dolphin world

„Guess what I saw last night..."

Dolphin is besides of designing our website a blessed photographer. In dolphin's world you find yet another bewildering contribution to New European Photography. On his trips to Britanny, England and Czech Republik (to name just a few) he captured the magic of cities, landscape and people living there in a wonderful way. An especially interesting part of dolphin's world is the section "TV Shots". The whole dolphin area is presented with a great flash-animation.

low stars tour diary

„Low Stars tour diary"

This is the pure and shocking truth of a strange tour of a bunch of maybe even stranger artists in September 2001. While the Anglo German Low Stars were on tour to promote the soundtrack-album "The Night Of The Amazone" on 9pm Records they were regularly updating this online-diary alternately with stories and snapshots of what happened. This includes really eerie moments like their Munich show on "11/9" of 2001. It's definitely worth reading it - like diving into another world on another planet.

pilvenpalo

„Pilvenpalo - Wolkenfeuer..."

"Pilvenpalo - Wolkenfeuer" is the title of an exhibition of New European Photograpy by Gabi Hofmann and Robert Soellner marking the start of the tug rec/9pm records label-store in Fürth, Germany where it has been shown the first time. All the pictures (as the title might explain to some of you) have been shot in Finland in summer 2002 and mirror the mood of the short Finnish summer, people celebrating midsummer and a bucketful of moments both amazing and weird. In here you'll find a selection of Gabi's and Robert's works.
Contact them at robert@grossersoellner.de

sanomat

„Sanomat..."

Sanomat is a truly European magazine made by a handful of people being part of the 9pm Records universe or at least close to it. Musicians, photographers, graphic artists, painters, printers from all over Europe. This no plain music-mag, the sanomat is about music, crazy little things in everyday life, football (!), the surface of things and the things behind the surface. In here you'll find only a brief preview on this exceptional mag as pdf-files. The original magazine is completely handmade, mostly handprinted and and is published in a strictly limited edition of 200 copies per issue. You can of course get your own copy of sanomat (if there is one left) by ordering it in our "beat-boutique".

Tomi Riihonheimo

„Vernissage Tomi Riihonheimo"

One of 2003's highlights in our "MICROCOSMOS" section is finally online: the images of Tomi Riionheimo. Tomi honoured our little recordshop KIOSKI in Fürth/Germany with an exhibition of his graphic works for the Finnish band Eläkeläiset from the last 10 years. Tomi Riionheimo is besides a blessed director of shortfilms, animated films, cartoon-artist and - of course - the person responsible for the merchandise sales on all the Eläkeläiset tours. The 9pm-records' "MICROCOSMOS" gives you now the opportunity to see his works (which are still exhibited in the KIOSKI, Schwabacher Str. 57, 90763 Fürth, Germany) on our website if the way to our shop is to far. Enjoy! If you want to find out more about Tomi just visit his own website at www.indiefilms.fi

9pm Festival

„9pm Festival"

It has been the first little festival ever featuring only 9pm records’ artists and it definitely won’t be the last. A gorgeous night for both the artists and the audience in mayabe the most suitable venue for that kind of event. From electronica-driven space-pop (gaffers with new member Julian on synth/guit.), to Butcher Boy’s melancholic weirdo songs in the vein of Alan Vega (with special appearance of Gabi H. on bass), to Mäkkelä’s alt.pop-lofi-gems to Dan Blocker’s gorgeous psychedelic-beat hymns (accomplished by The Truffauts-members Ronald and Manfred) we had it all. Not to forget Stefan Wagner's tasty djing in the end of this wonderful evening. We’ll keep that going. Promised.

Desert Planet Tour

„Desert Planet "  Mario Built my Hot Rod-Tour
                            28/04/05 - 14/05/05

Desert Planet (Rovaniemi/Finnland) first time on tour in Germany/Switzerland/Netherlands. And it has been a great one!
From their first gig in Kassel’s K-19 until the unbelievable last show in Basel’s „Wagenmeister“ those three aliens from the Finnish part of Lapland were a guarantee for fourteen smashin’ parties. Hard to believe how this Finnish three-piece, with their 8-Bit-videogame-influenced space-punk anthems were rockin’ the mideuropean dancefloors… Who’s been to one of the shows knows what we’re talking about. Hookline after hookline, beats going right up your spine, bizarre sci-fi-projections of Mr. VJ Antti Hovila and all of them three madmen from outer space wearing green helmet’s and white space-suits while transforming the venues into sweat-soaked moshpits. During the last gigs the whole thing got in a way out of hand when jari Mikkola broke one of his ribs while dancing on stage…Anyway big fun.
Thanks to all the promoters, audiences, of course Achim Bogdahn of (BR/Zündfunk) and Radio Z for their friendly support. Very special thanks from here also to Tom and Pipilotti Rist in Zurich, Ibrahim in Basel, Naomi Sample & The Go Go Ghosts for the best warm-up gig and the “Weinerei” team in Nurnberg. See now some of the greatest moments of Desert Planet’s tour. Next live dates in Germany in December 2005.
